The Garage Cultural Center

The Garage Cultural Center is a new creative space for art and culture in Montpelier with a vision to provide a unique place for the creative community to come together. The Garage hosts rotating art exhibits, workshops, culinary popups, meetings and event rentals. Their mission is to connect the public with local and global interests, and provide opportunities for artistic experimentation, demonstration and discovery.

Montpelier Vermont is a magnet for creative souls. Painters, writers, photographers, the green hills surrounding the capitol city is teaming with passion and talent. Vermonters have set the stage for the rest of the country to follow. From farm to table, field to bottle, creative juices flow freely in Vermont and they come together in Montpelier at our farmer’s market, amazing restaurants, newly built distilleries, and public art gatherings. The Garage Cultural Center hopes to build on this passion by providing a place for creativity to flow.

Gallery Hours: Friday 10am-5pm Saturday 10am-5pm or by appointment. Thank you for your patience as we iron out the wrinkles in our new gallery space. Space available for rentals. Please check out our rental page and email with questions or requests.

Please enter The Garage building on the river side of the building. There are steps at the front of the building leading up to the deck, or handicap ramp in the back of the building. The entrance is the second door off of the deck. We have limited free parking at the rear of the building as well as on the riverside.

Half Pint Chef

Half Pint Chef is the creation of Jess Turner, who has planned a cooking curriculum designed to empower kids to have hands-on experiences in the kitchen. Jess is a lifelong baker, a mom to a 7-year-old aspiring baker, and the owner of Capital Kitchen in downtown Montpelier. From sweet fruits to salty cheeses and fresh herbs, learn how to bake perfect muffins of all kinds. Master basic recipes that can be customized a million different ways for breakfast, lunch or dinner!


Cooking for Health

A hands-on cooking and tasting class using local seasonal produce. Join us to learn more about cooking the abundance of Vermont's harvest! We will explore the health benefits of ingredients, cook delicious food and savor the results. You will leave with a culinary pharmacy, recipes, and inspiration to get cooking.
